AmbiMi Snapshot: 2022 in Review

2022 is almost over, and it's been a big one for us here at AmbiMi. 2022 had its ups and downs when it came to the labour market. From the great resignation to labour shortages across most industries, it kept us on our toes.

We welcome you to join us in a recap of the year with some hints on what to expect from us next year.

AmbiMi 2022 Recap

AmbiMi by the numbers

  • 5 Job Hubs open

  • 13 new employees

  • 17 employee birthdays

  • 4233 cups of coffee consumed

  • 6085 professional placements

Mobile App

This year started with us testing our on-demand staffing app in the market. Thank you to all the companies that participated in our initial testing. We've learned a lot, but two of our main takeaways were:

  1. There is a strong need for a payroll solution

  2. We needed to make app improvements to make it more user friendly

Then, we paused our app and focused on development to meet your needs. The app is now available for office roles in British Columbia.

We have more locations coming soon (*cough* Ontario and Alberta *cough, cough*) #notcovid.

We are excited to announce that we actioned our takeaways from the testing period and are introducing a new and improved mobile app in early 2023.

On top of that, we will be launching a peer-to-peer hiring function in our app. You'll be able to hire professionals as an individual to help with at-home tasks such as cleaning, childcare, home repairs, yard work, etc.

If you're interested in downloading the app, learn more about it here for orgs or here for pros.

Job Hubs

After our app testing, we also found that professionals and organizations sometimes liked having someone they could talk to in person. So, we decided to open physical Job Hubs to empower organizations and professionals to choose how they want to find talent and jobs. Our Job Hubs allow you to walk in and talk to a real person face-to-face.

In July, our first Job Hub opened in Windsor-Sarnia, ON, and Vancouver, BC and Kitchener-Waterloo, ON, quickly followed. We also have virtual Job Hubs in Mississauga, ON and Hamilton, Ontario. We will launch many more Job Hubs in 2023 in British Columbia, Ontario, and more!

Our Job Hubs focus on operation jobs, including warehouse, manufacturing, construction, restoration, landscaping, janitorial, and hospitality.

Our team has been at multiple career fairs and events around their communities. They've been attending school job fairs, helping newcomers to Canada find jobs at panels, and giving career advice throughout the communities.

Company

That sounds like a lot, right? You may be wondering how we've managed to do all of this. Well, we couldn't have done it without all our employees!

We hired 13 new employees this year, a 125% increase from last year. With our staff over doubling, we opened up these Job Hubs and focused on app development, all while connecting professionals and organizations.

Our team helped do our part in the community with two litter picks and two volunteer events. We're not stopping there. Next year we hope to continue and increase our involvement with local communities through career fairs, events, and associations. We're starting to work with local associations and learning institutions in hopes of developing meaningful relationships in the communities we operate in.

Thank you to everyone that has used AmbiMi in 2022. We look forward to growing and learning with you all in 2023.
