History

Vancouver-based AmbiMi is an on-demand staffing platform that combines an innovative app with a human-centric network of Job Hubs to support job hunting and hiring. AmbiMi is backed by the expertise of founder and CEO Jeff Harris.

Jeff is the Founder and CEO of Impact Recruitment and has been a leader in the industry for over 12 years. Jeff noticed a gap in the recruitment industry – the time-consuming process of hiring for hourly jobs. This couldn’t be solved with traditional staffing agencies, but it is possible with the automation that a tech-based mobile staffing platform provides.

What is Skills-Based Job Matching?

We’ve talked lots about skills-based job matching, and that’s because it’s one of AmbiMi’s key features. AmbiMi vets, filters, and qualifies candidates based on skills they have acquired on the job. Then, it matches them to opportunities that best suit their experience. This ensures that businesses and professionals find the right fit.

In short, professionals choose the skills they have and the skills they want to develop. Then, AmbiMi matches them to jobs that fit those skills. This ensures companies only see candidates with relevant skills and filters out unqualified candidates.

How it Works

AmbiMi brings to the table innovative skills-based job matching technology, to complement a people first, Hub-centric approach to temporary recruitment. An employer now has the choice to choose between either the app or a human-facing approach backed by modern app-based technology. The app allows employers the ability to specify the details of a job at their convenience (24/7), including the skills they are looking for as well as the rate at which the job will be paid. Alternatively, they may choose to discuss their needs with another human (Job Hub employee), who can utilize our technology to streamline the process. 

Professionals can use the app to see the jobs that they are best suited for based exclusively on the skills they possess, with the opportunity to upskill as needed. They will also have the option to discuss their experience with a Job Hub specialist and accelerate their onboarding via app menus. 

AmbiMi is removing barriers of entry for a variety of people who can benefit from leveraging their skills set to pick up different jobs so that short-term work can serve their long-term interests. Companies can fill temporary jobs faster than ever, replacing the traditional interview process with a working interview, and allowing both parties to assess fit.

  2. Verified skills

    AmbiMi matches professionals to available jobs based on the skills they have or want to acquire. The app verifies their skills based on shifts completed and adds them to their AmbiFile, the first-ever verified resume. This process not only simplifies the recruitment process but also eliminates hiring bias.

  3. Ease of payment processing:

    Organizations and professionals add their preferred payment method upon creating their profiles. All payments are processed through the app via a secure payment partner, Stripe. This brings a newfound sense of ease to payments.

  4. Geofencing technology

    AmbiMi uses geofence location tracking technology to track when a professional’s shift begins and ends by accessing their phone’s location settings. This effectively eliminates the need for hour tracking and timesheets, further simplifying the recruitment process.
