Find Jobs in 40 Minutes or Less at Our Job Hubs

Imagine waking up and needing to job search. Usually, that’s a stressful task that you’re dreading, right? You may go to google and type “temp jobs near me” or “jobs for college students.” You get countless job postings in return, some that aren’t relevant to you. After sorting through and applying to jobs, you must wait days or weeks to hear back from the hiring manager. Instead, let’s skip all that and picture this:

You wake up early and walk down the street to a Job Hub. When you arrive, a hiring expert (let’s call her Sarah) greets you with a smiling face at 7:30 AM. Sarah is dedicated to finding you a job and will be your only point of contact. She asks about your experience and goals. You tell her you have experience working at a warehouse and are looking for Warehouse Associate or similar roles. You complete on-the-spot assessments for WHMIS and physical lifting. By the time it’s 8:15 AM, you already have General Labour gigs for the week. We’ll even lend you a hard hat if you need one for the job.

Thankfully, all that is possible with our Job Hubs! We’ll go through the ins and outs of what to expect at our Job Hubs, including what they are and what you should bring.

What is a Job Hub?

On top of our on-demand staffing app, we have Job Hubs. Job Hubs are physical locations in high-demand areas to help you find local jobs. For all the details on Job Hubs, watch our video here. You can walk in, meet our team, and find a job face-to-face.

We offer temp jobs, part-time jobs, student jobs, side jobs, summer jobs, temp-to-hire, and much more! Plus, we’re open from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM so that you can find jobs as early or late as possible.

What to Expect When You Enter a Job Hub

One of our Job Hub Specialists will welcome you when you arrive. First, you’ll complete a registration questionnaire. Then, we’ll ask about what you’re looking for, such as whether you’re looking for part-time or full-time positions. We’ll recommend other certifications that you can complete on the spot. We have guest Wi-Fi available to finish all assessments.

What to Bring

When coming to a Job Hub, please make sure you have the following to ensure we can find you a temporary job right away.

  • One (1) piece of a government-issued photo ID and one (1) secondary piece of ID; Examples include: passport, driver’s license, Canadian military identification card, government-issued identification card, health card and Canadian permanent resident card.

  • Proof of Social Insurance Number (SIN); Examples include: SIN card or SIN Confirmation letter issued by the Government of Canada. This documentation will be used only to verify your eligibility to work in Canada. No copy will be made.

  • A void cheque or direct deposit slip (for payroll purposes); and

  • A copy of your valid work permit (if applicable).

  • Valid tickets or trade certifications (if applicable).

Types of Assessments

We offer different assessments depending on what industries you’re interested in. Everyone fills out a registration questionnaire, then the following evaluations vary. For example, if you’re looking for manufacturing or warehouse work, we’ll ask you to take the WHMIS certification.

The time spent on the certifications depends on which ones you need. Our above example would look like this:

  • Registration Questionnaire (includes comprehension) – 15 minutes

  • WHMIS – 15 minutes

  • Physical Lifting Check – 5 minutes

  • PPE Demo – 5 minutes

In total, that would be 40 minutes spent on assessments*. Then, you might already have a job by the end of it!

*Additional assessments may apply

What’s Next?

After you finish your registration and assessments, one of two things could happen. We’ll either immediately dispatch you to a job or contact you when we have positions available. Feel free to check in with your dedicated Job Hub Specialist to see our open jobs.
